BEAMS in Tombura-Yambio Diocese, South Sudan

A team of three from BEAMS  arrived yesterday in Tombura - Yambio Diocese, South Sudan, through Uganda. They were welcomed warmly at Yambio airport and taken to Bishop's residence. Bishop Edwardo was there in person to receive then in his residence and  also took them around to see the surrounding. Their mission is to make a documentary covering all the activities that are taking place in the diocese. They will have a very tight schedule from today until 16th September.

SIGNIS Africa Assembly in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

SIGNIS -Africa Congress and Delegates Assembly opened today in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The theme of this Assembly is

The African Youth in the Digital World: Promoting Creativity do Integral Development. 

The welcoming speech was delivered by His Eminence, Cardinal Berhaneyesus D. Souraphiere, CM, Metropolitan Archbishop of Addis Ababa. The Assemble will officially come to and end on 7th September, 2019.

Presidency and Africa Past Pupils Meeting

The Presidency and Past Pupils meeting has been going on at DBYES.  It is very encouraging to see the world leadership and Africa Delegates come together to forge forward on how to make Past Pupils Movement relevant to the World of today

Farewell to Mother Yvonne

The Canonical Visitation to the FMA -AFE Province came to an end with the Thanksgiving Mass and a Farewell at Auxilium, FMA Provincial House at Hurlingham, Nairobi. The Thanksgiving Mass was presided over by the Provincial of SDB, AFE Province, Fr. Simon Asira. After the Mass there was a short entertainment presented by children from Maria Romero Children's Home. Sr. Yvonne was presented with few gifts from Sisters and from Salesian Cooperators. After the well deserved lunch and the cutting of the Cake the social event came to an end. This evening Sr. Yvonne left for Rome.

The Mother General of the FMA, Sr. Yvonne, this afternoon had a meeting with the Salesians of Don Bosco, SDBs and later she met the Salesian Family in the Shrine Hall, at Don Bosco Upper Hill. It was a very joyful moment and many expressed their gratitude to her for finding time to meet them. Mother General expressed the need to continue cooperating in the mission entrusted to us for the good of the young people.

BEAMS swung into action again today covering the event where Mother General of the FMA was meeting with the Youth people from the centres where Salesian Sisters are serving. It was a grand occasion. Different centres presented various cultural items and speeches in appreciation to the work that Sisters are doing in various missions in AFE-FMA province that comprises of Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda.
